Parents are Lining up to buy a Celebrity Pram Retailing $2799

Preparing for your first baby can put a small dent into your wallet.

The list of baby gear needed can be mind boggling and overwhelming.

But for some parents, money is no object if they want the best for their baby. They will even join a waiting list to get what they want.

The Cybex Priam pram is the pram parents are ordering before stock even arrives in Australia. The pram that costs $2,799.99 is taking Australia by storm. What makes this pram stand out from others, is not necessarily its practical features – but more how it looks. The pram features ‘golden wings’, a signature style by Moschino Designer Jeremy Scott. As a result, parents are seeing it as the must-have pram for their baby.

Even celebrities are using the pram to push around their tots. Liv Tyler and Cate Blanchett are said to have one, and Nicky Hilton and Roxy Jacenko have shared pictures on Instagram, showing off their kid’s new ride.

Australian distributor, CNP Brands are busy ordering back-up stock because the first shipment sold out before it arrived.

CNP Brands APEC sales director, Harrie De Ber said, “There is a willingness by consumers to stretch their spend to stand out.

“They see a stroller like a car. And now more fathers are behind the pram, it’s an extension of parents’ fashion.”

Most parents can’t afford a $3,000 pram, but with its long waiting list, it seems some parents aren’t deterred by its cost.

Would you buy a $3000 pram? What was the most you spent on your first pram?
