How to Use Shadow Boxes to Preserve Your Baby’s Memories

It seems none of us are quite ready to let go of our baby clothes once our babies grow up. But keeping the memories in containers isn’t the best use of the clothes. They could be donated to other mums who can use them or they could be created into keepsake memories like Memory Bears.

Another way to preserve your baby’s memories is through the use of shadow boxes.

Parents around the world have shown how crafty and creative they can be by using shadow box frames to display their baby’s first belongings.

Some things to include in the shadow box might be:

Their first beanie and mittens or socks.
Their first outfit.
Their hospital band.
A hand or foot print.
Ultrasound pictures and pictures from the day they were born.
Their first rattle or toy.

The list is endless of what can be included in the shadow box, but keep it mind, it needs to fit into the shadow box while laying flat.

If one shadow box isn’t enough, why not create a collage of shadow boxes using a favourite book as the background.

Alternatively, if you’ve kept your baby’s shoes, you might like to display them in order of age.

Shadow boxes are definitely a great way to display and preserve your baby’s memories. The hardest part will be deciding what goes into the shadow box for preserving.

Would you consider preserving your baby’s memories in a shadow box? Have you come across any other creative ways of displaying your baby’s wares?
