A very determined pregnant woman, Tommitrise Collins from Macon, Georgia chose to complete her psychology exam while she was in labor at the Coliseum Medical Centre.
The motivated Collins labored for 20 hours, with nearly 5 of them used to do her exam. Thursday was the only day she could take the exam so she took her laptop to hospital to do the test as her labour started.
Collins told Fox5 News, “It took me 4-5 hours after the opening of the test to try to put the pain to the side and do it so I wouldn’t have to do it later and I could enjoy my newborn.”
While Collins was tapping away at her laptop during her exam, her sister, Shanell Brinkley-Chapman, took this picture and uploaded it to Facebook captioning, “This is what you call ‘Strong Priorities’. Contractions 3 minutes apart and still takes her Psychology Test! You are going to be a great Mom baby sis!”
Collins gave birth to a baby girl Tyler Elise and also passed her exam, although she wasn’t quite happy about her score. She requested to take the exam again and received a B.
The new mum is due to graduate in December 2016 with a Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. Now that she’s a mum, she’s even more determined to finish her studies.
“She is my life now, and the way I look at it is, she will always have me to depend on so my goals will not be put on hold,” Collins told Fox 5 News. “I don’t want to just barely make it by, I want my child to live comfortably, and I want to show people that just because I am considered a young mother doesn’t mean I have to be considered a bad mother.”
