We know that twins share a special bond and can often know when their sibling is in danger or what the other is thinking.
In an uncanny coincidence, identical twin sisters in the US have given birth at the exact same time. Their babies share the same delivery time and birth date.
The sisters, who live in two different cities (1739km away from each other!) didn’t plan to be pregnant at the same time.
Leah Rodgers and Sarah Mariuz fell pregnant last year, unaware that either sister was planning on falling pregnant.
It was Thanksgiving last year when the sisters got to see each other in person and their ‘twintuition’ told them they were both pregnant. Their due dates were four days apart.
“She showed up to my front door and I welcomed her and Nick (Ms Mariuz’s husband) inside,” said Rodgers.
“And I had this crazy twin intuition — I call it my ‘twintuition’ — and I knew she was pregnant, too.”
The two sisters jumped up and down when they realized they would be pregnant at the same time.
“We were jumping up and down, just so happy for each other,” Ms Maruiz said.
The sisters didn’t predict that the birth dates and times for their little ones’ arrivals would be identical.
Ms Rodgers gave birth to a baby boy in Denver, Colorado at 1:18am last Thursday, while Ms Maruiz gave birth to a baby girl in La Jolla, California at the same time.
They credit the unusual phenomenon to their special connection.
“We’ve always lived in separate places, but all of us — we have two sisters — are very close in age and very close. But certainly there’s another connection at the twin level,” Ms Rodgers told TODAY US.
The sisters are now home with their new babies and are making plans to spend time together during this new season of their lives.
