Freezer Friendly Meals For A New Mum

Freezer friendly meals for a new mum

One of the best (and most useful) things you can give a new Mum is a ready-made meal that she can pop into the freezer. Trust us, she’ll be thanking you on those sleep-deprived days when the last thing she feels like doing is cooking dinner!

So, here’s a collection of our favourite freezer friendly meals that any new mum will love!

Lasagne

You probably knew this one was coming right? Well there’s a very good reason that lasagne is at the top of our freezer friendly meals list. Not only is it a family favourite, but there’s sure to be leftovers for lunch the next day!

Casserole

A casserole is a great way to give a new mum a nutritionally balanced meal that she can easily pop into the oven. Fill it with either chicken, beef or lamb and of course, lots of vegetables.

Soup

Make a big batch of soup and freeze it into smaller containers. This way, the new mum will be able to heat up a container for lunch or dinner straight from the freezer. Another great way to get some extra healthy vegetables in!

Pasta Bake

This is another family favourite dinner. Cook a pasta bake and then pop it into containers and freeze. Perfect for grabbing out of the freezer on a very sleep deprived day!

Pie

Make a pie for a new mum and she’ll love you forever. Whether it’s a chicken or beef pie, there’s nothing simpler than whipping one of these out of the freezer at the last minute!

Bolognaise Sauce

A big batch of bolognaise sauce is so versatile. Giving a new mum a container or two of sauce will take the hard work out of making spaghetti bolognaise, pasta bake, Mexican lasagne or a good old fashioned lasagne.

Sausage Rolls

Perfect for when unexpected guests drop in (which they will!!!). Just pop these into the oven to re-heat and your new mum will be set to go.

Quiche

A quiche is a great protein boosting meal. Make it even healthier by adding in some roasted vegetables.

Meatloaf

A meatloaf is a perfect freezer friendly dinner. Grab it out in the morning to defrost, pop it in the oven to reheat before dinner… and you’re good to go. This is even more delicious when served with some extra vegetables or a side salad.

Curry

This is a fantastic meal (especially if the weather is cool). Why not buy some roti bread that can be frozen as well. Nothing like having Indian takeaway without having to leave the house!

Do you know a new mum who is in desperate need of a freezer meal? Which meal will you be making for her?
