Women’s Motorcycle Gang Deliver Breastmilk to Premature Babies

It doesn’t matter who you are or where your interests lie in life, we all have the capacity to help someone in need.

And that’s what a group of badass female motorcyclists do every day.

A women’s motorcycle gang in New York are the reason many premature babies get life-saving donations of milk.

Sirens Women’s MC of NY do daily milk runs to ensure premature babies receive the milk they need.

The milk is distributed from the New York Milk Bank who supplies breast milk to hospitals and facilities that need supplies to feed premature babies.

The New York Milk Bank is a non-profit organization. They collect breastmilk donations from women who produce too much milk. The New York Milk Bank screens the women, tests their blood, takes their milk, pasteurizes it and distributes it to babies who are in need. Being a non-profit organization, the milk needs to be delivered quickly, efficiently and at low cost.

That’s where the Siren’s Women’s motorcycle group come in. They are able to weave in and out of traffic quickly to ensure the donations reach hospitals and facilities in need, in record time.

Jen Baquial, the president of Sirens Women’s MC of NY, says “any woman” is welcome to join the group and is encouraged to participate in annual events for good causes. The Sirens Women’s MC of NY was formed as many motorcycle groups were ‘men only’.

Each year the gang hosts a benefit ride and last year they raised $2,400 to keep the New York Milk Bank open.

The group may have been an unlikely transport method, but they’ve proven to be the answer to ensuring milk supplies get delivered in an efficient manner to babies who desperately need the milk.
