This Viral Video Shows What Can Happen If Your Child Chews Their Fingernails And it’s GROSS
If your child chews their fingernails, this video may prompt you to help them break their habit.
We’ve seen the infatuation with pimple popper videos, and this video is up there in the gross factor, but it comes with an incredibly important warning.
Sara Guidry shared two videos which have gone viral on Facebook since being uploaded on the 17th May.
The videos are of her using tweezers to remove chewed fingernails from her son’s gums.
The mum explained in her post,
Kale has always kept us on our toes. Looking in Kale’s mouth I see something white in his gums. I get a tweezer and pull it. It looked like a finger nail. I continued to pull 4 more out. I then search his mouth and find another area. I pulled around 27 out of the second spot. YES 27! The dentist has never seen anything like this. We figured out that Kale bites his nails and plays with them in his mouth. He pushes them up towards his pallet. The nail penetrates the skin and goes into a pocket between the baby teeth and permanent teeth. Don’t let your children bite their nails! If you can handle the disgust check out the video.
The videos have been shared nearly 185,000 times and have received over 77k comments.
While some found the video satisfying to watch like the pimple popper videos, the post offers a warning about what can happen after a child chews their nails.
I’ve bitten my nails since I was little. I have never left the piece in my mouth though. I think mine started as a nervous habit. I was extremely shy as a youngster. I was teased in the early years at school. I am what is known as naturally left handed. It was noticed by a specialist when I was only a few months old. It didn’t matter where a toy was put I always reached for it with my left hand. I was whacked by the teacher for trying to write left handed.
