Two-year-old Evie suffers from post traumatic eating disorder. She has to be fed through a tube and vomits up to 10 times a day because she is terrified of eating.
When she was three weeks old, she was held down and given medication through a syringe and has been too scared to eat ever since. She also suffered severe allergies and reflux when she was a baby which makes her associate food with pain.
The condition gives her anxiety at the thought of swallowing food.
Doctors have suggested that Evie may need to have a hole cut into her stomach to be fed through. Her Mother is trying hard to avoid this drastic decision seeing as her condition is psychological.
Evie relies solely on a tube which is put through her nose to her stomach to feed her artificially. A 200ml feeding bag can take up to 45 minutes to administer.
Previously, this meant she had to sit out at nursery to be fed while her friends had fun but her Mum made a backpack to carry Evie’s feeding bag so she can eat while she plays.
The tubes are made to last up to six weeks before they are changed, but she vomits so much that they must be changed weekly.

Evie’s family are now saving up to send her to a clinic in Austria which specialises in teaching children dependent on feeding tubes to eat.
At the clinic she will attend a two week ‘eating school’ that focuses on intensive psychological training and looks at creating a relaxed, happy environment around food.

Your republishing this one again? There are so many medical errors in this article I almosted laughed. Babies are not known to remember things when they are three weeks old. Vomiting often happens as the stomach isn’t fully closed with tube in…. Please see original article, not this sad rehash.
My daughter asd 12 at the start of this year had something similar was terrifying to see thankfully i have lots of specialists on board and she is doing well 🙂 medication has helped massivly to control the anxiety around eating x
I highly doubt that at 3 weeks old being forced to take medicine would be the cause of her problems. Yes the allergies and reflux possible. I have had to do that to my kids a many times and they are 100% fine.
Definitely alot more fuelling her problems. Poor thing. Strength to her and her family.
Poor thing she sounds misdiagnosed. Sounds like my baby with GORD disease.
Visit her Go fund me page – she is no longer tube fed and her issues were not solely associated with being force fed medicine.https://www.gofundme.com/helpevieeat
