The actress took time away from her acting career to fight the cancer.
She is now spreading awareness about thyroid cancer, sharing her story of how she missed a vital warning sign of her having the life-threatening illness.
American Cancer Society say if thyroid cancer is caught early, there is a high chance of survival. Brown’s campaign is vital in educating people what to be aware of when it comes to noticing differences in their body.
Brown is now raising funds for a cancer charity by running a marathon. The actress has been cancer free for a year.
If you notice anything different in your body, please see your GP. Any lumps on the neck should also be checked out by your doctor. While the check could find nothing wrong, it’s better to be safe than sorry.
