When you’re pregnant, there’ always an anticipation to see what features the new baby will inherit from mum and dad. Will the baby get mum’s nose or dad’s blue eyes?
One baby in Ridgeland, South Carolina, inherited her mum’s wild streak of white hair. The now 18-month-old MilliAnna is the fourth generation of women in her family to have the condition that causes pigmentation in a patch of skin or hair.
MilliAnna has a tuft of white hair, just like her mum, Brianna Worth.
“We don’t have no boys in our family. My whole life growing up, I took it as a birthmark.” Said Brianna to Inside Edition.
The mum said growing up, she found it difficult looking different, but her look quickly grew on her and she hopes her daughter will do the same.
“In elementary school, kids are a little harsher, but when you grow up, it becomes cool.”
“I’m going to tell her, ‘you’re unique, you’re pretty, you’re beautiful.”
When Worth was pregnant with MilliAnna, she had hoped her daughter would keep the family tradition alive.
“I was hoping she did have it. My younger sister that my mother had a few years after me didn’t get it, so I didn’t know if MilliAnna was going to, but once I had her and they laid her on my chest and I saw she had it I was so happy.”
“We definitely get stopped a lot while out and about on our daily routines.”
“The majority of the time I welcome the polite comments and don’t mind answering the many questions, but honestly, it can be overwhelming at times.”
