A Breast Pump Company Imagines a World Where Men Breastfed

If men could breastfeed, would it be more socially acceptable?

The company behind Naya breast pump believes it would be a totally different world if men could breastfeed. So much so they created an ad around the concept which is humourous, yet digs at existing workplace attitudes around breastfeeding mums.

The ad imagines a workplace where the men breastfed. The male manager offers support to a ‘leaking’ dad, while a colleague introduces him to the ‘lactation lounge’.

There are plenty of snacks and lactating steaks for the nursing dads, with high fives all round, and some competitive banter around breast pump machines. Trust the guys to make comparisons over their breast pump apparatus…

Most women in the workplace have to express milk in a spare office, store room or a toilet so the ad highlights the opposite of what most nursing mums experience when they head back to work.

While mums don’t want to be fussed over when they return to work, a little support couldn’t go astray.
