We live in a world where we can be apprehensive when a stranger comes by to talk to our children. But this story, shared by a mum from the US, will bring tears to your eyes.

Alyssa Hacker, shared her story on Facebook last Saturday, how she was out shopping with her two-year old son, Owen, at Target.

Owen had grabbed three toy dinosaurs from the shelf, and asked his mum if he could take them home with him.

Alyssa explains in her post, “…We were trying to pick out which one he wanted when Owen abruptly yelled, “Hi,” at this older man walking past us.”

“He turned around and said, ‘Hey sweet boy.’”

The older man started to play with Owen and Alyssa admitted she was hesitant about a stranger getting close to her son.

But to her surprise, the man took out a $20 note out of his wallet and put it in Owen’s shirt pocket.

He then spoke to Alyssa, saying, “I just lost my 2-year-old grandson last week. You take this money and buy this boy all three dinosaurs.”

As the man walked away, and rubbed his tears, Owen shouted thank you.

Alyssa shared the post on Facebook which has gone viral, and been shared over 100,000 times.

Alyssa ended her post with, “There is still some good in this world.”

The grandpa has no idea his act of kindness has gone viral online.

The story has also initiated strangers sending their condolences to the grieving grandpa.

One commenter said, “Look at it as a way, God used your son to help a grieving Grandpa make another child happy when he was helpless in not being able to do that one happiness for his own. It was a gift for both of them.”
