A 65-year-old retired teacher from Berlin became the oldest woman to give birth to quadruplets back in May.
Annegret Raunigk, who is a retired teacher, caused controversy when she gave birth via Caesarian section at just six-and-a-half months pregnant.
She gave birth to one girl, Neeta who weighed just 1lb 7oz when she was born. Neeta’s three brothers were almost as small – with Bence weighing 1lb 8oz, Fjonn 1lb 10oz and Dries 2lb 2oz.
A few days ago, Neeta, Bence, Fjonn and Dries – now weighing 5lb 11oz, 5lb 12oz, 5lb 13oz and 6lb 3oz respectively – were examined and deemed fit enough to leave the hospital at the end of the month.
Annegret already has 13 other children to five different fathers and it was her 10-year-old daughter who persuaded her to undergo IVF where she fell pregnant with the quads.
