Easy No Fail Pizza Dough Recipe

Want to know a no fail pizza dough recipe? This is my Friday night ritual. We don’t ever order take away anymore!


While I’m on a health kick at the moment, and I admit that I endure my kale salads and toasted air sandwiches, I have two non negotiable’s. There are two meals each week that I refuse to give up for the sake of a Summer body. The first one is spaghetti, those zoodles can bite me, and the second is pizza. As a women who loves her carbs, in every form they come in, pizza hits that spot for me every time. It makes me a better person. Nicer. Zen like.

The kids also love it. It’s not like when you make home made hamburgers and try to pass them off as better than McDonald’s. Children don’t fall for that. Pizza is different. It’s something that you can tailor to the child. Allow them to place the toppings on themselves so they feel as though they are part of the process. The more they feel as though they are part of something, the more likely they are to eat it! You can also make it as healthy as you like. Sneakily blend a supermarket full of vegetables in the sauce. Roll meatballs up with shredded kale. They won’t know. Pizza is all smoke and mirrors, baby.

I’ve also made a handy little tutorial to show you how to knead dough when you don’t own a Thermomix or bread maker. This applies to bread dough and pizza dough so this may inspire you to make some bread along side your pizza!


Dough Ingredients:

4 cups plain flour
A packet dry yeast
1 1/2 cups luke warm water
1 1/2 tsp salt
2 tblespoons olive oil
2 tsp sugar


Place dry yeast in warm water for 5 mins to activate the yeast. You know it’s ready when it starts to bubble.
Place the plain flour, salt and sugar in a large bowl and combine. Create a well in the centre of the bowl and add oil and water/yeast mixture.
Mix ingredients with a fork initially then knead with your hands shorty after. Knead dough for 10 minutes on a floured surface.
Roll into a ball and cover with a thin layer of olive oil. Place in a bowl and glad wrap. Leave it in a warm place to rise for 1 hour (it should have doubled in size).
After the dough has risen, knock it back and leave it to rise for another 30mins to an hour.
Roll it out and add your favourite toppings.
