Good friend of ours Clint Greagen – the beanie wearing, moon walking stay at home Dad from the suburbs – has hit stereotypical gender roles on the head with his book Reservoir Dad and we think it’s the perfect read for Mums and Dads who have kids or have a baby on the way.
His book is an easy to read, humorous and moving memoir, delving headfirst into the the ups and downs of parenting. His story includes the trauma and reward of birth; the deep impact a miscarriage had on him, the unbridled love he has for his children who often drive him to the point of insanity, the battle to maintain a healthy sex life with his infamous and hilarious date night strategies, his ‘hands on’ approach to breastfeeding, his battle against gender stereotypes, and his internationally reviewed ‘Vasectomy Diaries.’ It’s a warm read and places the manic daily ups and downs of raising babies and children in the middle of a love story. His love for his wife Tania shines through clearly.
If I was to have only two books on my bedside table during my pregnancies and the early days of raising children it would be Kaz Cookes ‘Up the Duff’ and Clint Greagen’s ‘Reservoir Dad’.
Here he is reading an excerpt from the book for us detailing his very first experience of an Antenatal Class, when he and wife Tania were expecting with their first son (of four) Archie.
His book is available at most book stores. To purchase a copy from your computer desk or mobile click here for the hard copy. And here for the ebook.
