Talented 9-Year-Old Boy Gets Job Decorating Walls of Restaurant with his Imaginative Drawings

Nine-year-old Joe Whale has been encouraged by his parents to draw ever since they spotted his talent at a very young age. While he often got in trouble at school for doodling little characters all over everything, his talent was spotted by a local restaurant who employed him to cover an entire wall with his drawings.

Joe’s parents signed him up to an after-school drawing class where his teacher, who adored his drawings, shared some of them to Instagram where they were noticed by staff members of Number 4 restaurant in the UK.

Spending around twelve hours decorating the dining room wall, Joe covered it completely with creative characters, cute messages and interesting graphics. Now that he’s all done, the work will remain there permanently.

“They wanted to get Joe into their restaurant to complete an art piece on their wall, and it was in their main dining area, we were over the moon,” Joe’s dad Greg explained. “I asked Joe and he, of course, leapt at the chance to do it so we have been going there after school where for a couple of hours a night he’ll put his creativity on their wall.”

Joe is now known as The Doodle Boy and has his own website, as well as social media profiles.

‘Joe loves doodling and we’re so proud of everything he’s achieving, the fact that a completely independent business has asked our nine-year-old son to do a professional piece of work for them is incredible.’ Greg posted Joe’s work on LinkedIn, where it quickly racked up more than 1,500,000 views and comments.
