3D Sculptures of Unborn Babies Tipped to be the Hot Trend for 2016

They may not be an entirely new concept (having already been available for a couple of years), but popular video-based parenting site Channel Mum have predicted that these 3D replicas of unborn babies will be one of the big trends of 2016.

3D Babies established back in 2013, is one such company capable of creating a sculpture in sandstone modelled from your babies 3D or 4D ultrasound images, using the latest computer graphics and 3D printing technology.

You can even choose from three different skin tones.

3D Babies come in two sizes. The life-size Baby is 8 inches (crown to rump) reflecting the actual size of a fetus during the recommended time of performing a 3D ultrasound. The half-size Baby is 4 inches (crown to rump) providing a more economical price yet still large enough to cradle in your hand.

But what…erm…do you do with it?

3D Babies suggests using them for:

  • Artistic sculpture for your display case
  • Memorabilia for baby’s room
  • Centrepiece for a baby shower
  • Share the news of your pregnancy
  • Gender reveal party

What do you think? Weird or wonderful?  Do you think Channel Mums prediction will come true?  Take the poll below and tell us what you think.
