Parents Capture Toddler’s Prayer Via Baby Monitor

A video of a 2 year old has gone viral after a baby monitor captured the toddler counting her blessings and thanking God for her mummy and daddy.

Kathryn Whitt from South Carolina and her husband Caleb discovered their 2-year old daughter Sutton, praying via the monitor an hour after she had been put down to sleep on January 24.

Kathryn said, ‘She never forgets anybody’s name. She’s so sweet and kind-hearted. That’s just the type of person she is. And this video is just a way to see that. It shows her heart works.’

Sutton’s dad, Caleb, had been teaching his daughter how to say prayers after reading a story before bed.

But on Sunday, Caleb forgot to count their blessings with Sutton, so she decided to do it in her cot, with the monitor capturing every word of her prayer.

Kathryn explained, “We didn’t do the prayers and didn’t think anything of it. We then heard on the monitor that she just decided to do them on her own. We were amazed by it because she usually rushes through the prayers. We’ll have to say ‘OK Sutton, say thank you for this person and that person,’ but as you see on the video, she was naming everybody.”

The prayer went for two minutes with Sutton reciting her grandparents, aunts, uncles, a school friend, her mum and dad and Santa Claus.

The video was shared on Facebook and it had 168,000 views.

“We’re overwhelmed, but we are definitely enjoying it,” Kathryn said. “We’ve already received so many emails and messages from people saying how this video has touched their lives.”
