A Memorable Proposal With an Awkward Twist

a memorable proposal with an awkward twist

If you’re a hopeless romantic like me, you never tire of hearing or reading about a proposal. I love the creativity shown by either partner when they ask the love of their life to marry them. But this proposal made me cringe a little. I felt sorry for the poor bloke who had organized an amazing proposal to his girlfriend. They will definitely remember it as a memorable proposal with an awkward twist.

Video Journalist, Darrell Hamilton Jr. decided to whisk his girlfriend Rheanna Faye off her feet (literally) by taking her on a helicopter ride over Reedley, California. What Faye didn’t know was Hamilton was planning to propose to her mid-air.

Being a video journalist by trade, Hamilton organised the filming of the big moment, but he couldn’t predict what would happen while they hovered in the sky.

The film shows pictures of Hamilton and Faye enjoying the ride, taking pictures of the scenery below. And then Hamilton starts to look ill. The poor guy starts to suffer from a bout of motion sickness.

In a quick effort not to lose or ruin the moment, Hamilton gets the ring out and makes the proposal, before heaving forward to puke. Thankfully Hamilton’s back covered whatever it was he had for breakfast.

Everything was caught on camera, as well as Faye’s concern to her new fiancé. The couple couldn’t kiss to celebrate because… well vomit breath.

Despite the hiccup, Faye said yes. It’s definitely a memorable proposal, and something they can reflect back on in the future.

At least the couple got one up on their vows… ‘in sickness and in health…’
